Journey into Girl Scouts!
As Girl Scouts approaches its 100th anniversary, we are using our expertise to create a completely new approach for what girls do in Girl Scouting, how they do it and how they will benefit. Called the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience, we engage girls in discovering themselves, connecting with others and taking action to make the world a better place. Girl Scouts experience as many as 15 outcomes as they learn leadership. These outcomes, or benefits, are woven into all Girl Scout program activities. In particular, there are new Girl Scout Journey program materials.
What are the Girl Scout leadership journeys? The Girl Scout Leadership Journeys represent a new way that girls can experience Girl Scouting. The Journeys are fun and challenging activities following a designated theme. Leadership journeys intentionally guide girls to be leaders in their own lives as they grow and mature. Experiences in each journey are tied to the three keys of leadership: discover, connect and take action. The first leadership journey series is themed, "It's Your World, Change It"--a dynamic program encouraging girls to make the world a better place. This first Journey series features one new book for girls at each grade level in Girl Scouting:
- Welcome to the Daisy Flower Garden
- Brownie Quest
- Agent of Change (for Juniors)
- aMAZE! (for Cadettes)
- GIRLtopia: Toward an Ideal World for Girls (for Seniors)
- Your Voice, Your World: The Power of Advocacy (for Ambassadors)
Girl Scout Participation - Health History Form
IMPORTANT! When participating in Council wide events, workshops, day camp, etc. Girl Scouts are required to bring with them a Health History Form. This form is extemely important in case of sudden illness, injury or other emergency. Girl Scouts will not be allowed to participate in the program unless a form is present during the program.
