This session offers essential information about the Girl Scout Movement and traditions, The Girl Scout Leadership Experience, Girl Scout grade levels, program resources and activities, purpose and structure of troop meetings, national and local policies, procedures and safety standards, developmental characteristics, money earning and group finance management, as well as information to help you get your troop off to a great start with tips for parent meetings. Who: At least one leader in each troop/group; short-term volunteers serving as the adult in charge of a group of girls. Prereq: You must complete the Online Orientation to Girl Scouting before attending Volunteer Essentials. Please print out a copy of your learning log to give to the trainer during sign in.
